General Bipin Rawat visited the forward Air Force bases in Eastern Sector and interacted with soldiers from the Army, Indo Tibetan Border Police and Special Frontier Force deployed at the forward most air maintained post in Dibang Valley and Lohit Sector of Arunachal Pradesh.

The visit comes amid the continuing standoff between India and China in Ladakh since May 2020.

“Complimenting the soldiers for the innovative measures adopted to maintain effective surveillance and enhanced operational readiness, he said that only Indian soldiers could remain vigilant under such challenging situations ever willing to go well beyond the call of duty to safeguard the borders. Nothing can deter the Indian Armed Forces on remaining steadfast in their call for duty,” a statement from the Army said.

While the standoff in Ladakh continues with no signs of a breakthrough, the Indian military has maintained a strong vigil in other sectors bordering the Tibet Autonomous Region in Chinese Control.

Not just the troops on the ground but even the Indian Air Force has remained in a state of operational readiness.

During his visit, the Air Marshal interacted with Air Warriors and reviewed the operational capabilities and preparedness of these bases and ALGs, the Indian Air Force said.
